In a world where academic excellence is often equated with success, many of the C and D students are usually overlooked, especially when it comes to the provision of a range of courses they can pursue like engineering and medicine.
Some of them are forced to give up their dreams when applying for university courses through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), because of not getting the required cluster points for a degree.
However, many of the C and D students, especially those who want to pursue engineering and medicine courses, are not aware that there are diploma options that they can pursue and still carve out successful careers.
The Kenya Times has compiled a list of diploma engineering and medicine courses with some of the institutions where these students can still chase their dreams.
Engineering Options
Some of the alternative government certified institutions that these students can consider engineering courses include the institute of Energy Studies and Research (ESR) by the Kenya Power and Lightening Company.
