Karatina University is a Chartered public university in Kenya situated 15 Kilometers north of Karatina town in Nyeri County.
This institution started in 2007 as the Mount Kenya region Campus of Moi University. It had succeeded a Teachers Training institute. In 2010, it became Karatina University College, a Constituent College of Moi University.
Awarded a Charter in 2013, Karatina University has campuses in Kagochi (main), School of Business in Karatina town and School of Education in Itiati.
