The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has announced openings for secondary school teachers and college tutors interested in working as assessors of the KCSE oral and practical papers.
In a notice on April 30, KNEC invited qualified teachers of the listed subjects to express their interest in the opportunities.
KNEC will be seeking to recruit teachers of subjects including Power Mechanics, Electricity, Aviation Technology, French Oral and German Oral to take part in the marking.
In addition, KNEC will hire teachers with qualifications to mark Arabic Oral, Kenyan Sign Language Signing Practical and Music Practical for the marking exercise.
According to the statement, the marking period will run from between May 1 and July 30, 2024.
The selected tutors, KNEC adds, will be trained on the job during assessment of the 2024 KCSE papers.
However, according to the KNEC notice, teachers who are already in the KNEC database of assessors need not to apply.

In addition, interested candidates should be registered and/or employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) or a recognized professional body and have a minimum of a Diploma in Education or in the relevant area of specialization.
