The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has issued an update on the challenges that were reported during the 2024 application for placement of students to universities and colleges.
In a statement on March 1, 2024, KUCCPS noted that it had fixed all the portal errors that applicants were experiencing.
“Following the challenges reported during application for placement to universities and colleges through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), a joint technical team has addressed the issue in relation to delays in payment,” read part of the statement.
KUCCPS further urged all those who were yet to submit their course choices to do so before the deadline of Monday, March 4th, 2024.
According to the statement, the issue was resolved after an intervention put in place by KUCCPS and eCitizen officers.

The placement service has assured applicants, parents and the public in general that the application process is smooth, and all eligible persons should apply.
Machogu Intervention
This came after Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu assured stakeholders that his Ministry had taken note of the challenges facing students in their attempts to place applications within the given timelines.
He advised students applying for placement to use the USSD code *222# to confirm their payments or trigger validation of payments.
According to his statement, officials in the Ministry were working in collaboration with other stakeholders to address all challenges facing students and complaints about slow progress.
