The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has identified regions likely to receive rainfall as mid-November approaches. In its weather forecast published on Monday, November 10, 2025, the Kenya Met Department outlined the weather outlook for November 11 to November 17, 2025, indicating that some parts of the country may experience rainfall.
The weatherman explained that most areas are expected to stay sunny and dry. However, rainfall is forecasted in parts of the Highlands east and west of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, regions in the Rift Valley, the Coast, the Southeast lowlands, and Northeast Kenya.
Daytime highs of more than 30°C are expected in the Coast, Northeast and Northwest Kenya, as well as some areas of the Southeast lowlands and the Highlands west of the Rift Valley.
Kenya Met Lists Regions Expected to Receive Rainfall
Nighttime lows are projected to be below 10°C in parts of the Highlands east of the Rift, the Central Rift Valley, and near Mount Kilimanjaro.
The regions in the highlands west of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley are expected to see sunny intervals in the mornings with possible afternoon showers and thunderstorms in some locations.

Nights are expected to be partly cloudy, though a few places may experience showers. Counties in these areas include Nandi, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Siaya, Busia, Baringo, Nakuru, Trans-Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, West Pokot, Kisii, Nyamira, Kericho, Bomet, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, and Narok.
Weather forecast for Northwestern Region
The Northwestern region, including Turkana and Samburu counties, will see sunny intervals during the day and partly cloudy nights.
In the Highlands east of the Rift, including Nairobi and surrounding areas, mornings are likely to be cloudy with occasional rains in some places, giving way to sunny intervals later in the day. Afternoon and nighttime showers may occur in some locations.
Other counties in this region include Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka-Nithi.
Coast Region
In northeastern Kenya, including Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo counties, sunny intervals are anticipated during the day, with partly cloudy nights. There is a chance of morning rains, as well as afternoon and evening showers in some areas.
The southeastern lowlands, comprising Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado, and Taita-Taveta counties, as well as the inland parts of Tana River, are expected to experience morning rains, accompanied by afternoon and evening showers in some areas.

In the Coast region, including Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, Kwale, and the coastal parts of Tana River County, sunny intervals are forecast for the daytime, with partly cloudy nights.
However, occasional morning and afternoon showers may also occur in some locations.
In its report, Kenya Met noted that very heavy rainfall (above 50mm in 24 hours) was observed in Makueni, Garissa, Kitui, Murang’a, and Migori Counties in the period between November 3 and November 9.
