Steps to Replace a Lost National Identity Card
1. Report the Loss at a Police Station
Visit the nearest police station to report the loss of your ID. You will be required to provide details such as your name, postal address, National ID number, and the date you lost it.

The police will issue a police abstract, which includes an OB (Occurrence Book) number and an official stamp confirming the report.
2. Visit the Nearest Huduma Centre
With the police abstract, proceed to the nearest Huduma Centre to apply for a replacement ID. You will need to fill out the ID replacement application form and pay a processing fee of Ksh 1,000.

3. Provide the Required Documents
Submit the completed application form along with two passport-sized photos. If you do not have passport photos, they can be taken at the Huduma Centre.
4. Biometric Data Collection
Your biometric details, including fingerprints and a passport photo, will be captured for verification purposes.
5. Pay the Processing Fee
Make a payment of Ksh 1,000 and ensure you receive a receipt as proof of payment.
6. Receive a Waiting Card
You will be issued a waiting card, which serves as your temporary identification document while your new ID is being processed.
7. Collect Your New ID
You will receive a text notification once your ID is ready for collection. Visit the Huduma Centre on the specified date with your waiting card to receive your new National ID.
