According to Forbes, nearly 75% of the world’s dollar billionaires are between 50 and 79 years old, and just 12% are under 50.
However, there are rare individuals who reach billionaire status before turning 30.

In 2025, there are only 21 billionaires under 30 on the Forbes list, making them part of an ultra-exclusive club.
Only two of them are self-made, while the rest inherited their massive wealth from family empires including pharmaceuticals, eyeglasses, retail, and industrial giants.

The youngest dollar billionaire on the planet is 19-year-old Johannes von Baumbach. He and his three siblings, all in their 20s, each hold an estimated Ksh696.6 billion ($5.4 billion) stake in Boehringer Ingelheim, the world’s largest privately owned pharmaceutical company.
At the same time, Europe has dominated the list of young billionaires, having 15 of the 21 youngest billionaires. Seven of them are from Germany, including the von Baumbach siblings, Sophie Luise Fielmann, Kevin David Lehmann, and Maxim Tebar.

Italy follows closely, with three heirs from the Del Vecchio family benefiting from a 40% jump in EssilorLuxottica’s stock, skyrocketing their fortunes to Ksh851 billion ($6.6 billion) each.

Self-Made Billionaires on the List
Among this elite group, only two billionaires earned their status without inheriting wealth.
They include 29-year-old Ed Craven. The Australian is the Co-founder of Stake.com, one of the world’s largest crypto-backed online casinos.
He made an estimated $4.7 billion in revenue in 2024.
At the same time, 28 year old American Alexandr Wang is a self made billionaire.
Wang is an AI data prodigy and co-founder of Scale AI, a company that provides AI data annotation services.
Wang first made the billionaire list in 2021 but dropped off in 2023. However, thanks to a May 2024 funding round that pushed Scale AI’s valuation to $13.8 billion, he is back in the billionaire ranks.
