AFC Leopards have unveiled a new fan-driven financing programme that will see supporters contribute a minimum of Ksh50 per month through the Ingwe Fans Initiative, with the aim of transforming the club’s large following from spectators into active financial supporters.
The proposal, outlined in a letter addressed to the club’s chairman, Boniface Ambani, positions the initiative as a structured grassroots funding model anchored on individual fan contributions.
The plan targets AFC Leopards’ nationwide support base, estimated at more than 10 million fans, with at least five million identified as militant or die-hard supporters.
Ksh50 AFC Leopard Fans Initiative
Under the proposal, supporters will be registered into an Ingwee Supporters Till number and contribute a minimum of Ksh50 monthly to support club activities.
The initiative is branded as “Ingwee Fine Support Initiative” and is intended to complement existing sponsorship arrangements while building long-term financial independence.
According to the AFC fan group, communication and outreach are key pillars of the programme.
The initiative proposes the use of radio and television advertisements, active engagement during matchdays, and roadshows to mobilise fans across the country.

Branch networks are expected to play a central role in registration and collection, while existing digital platforms linked to the club will be used to disseminate information and drive participation among supporters.
According to the projections in the proposal, if only 20 per cent of the estimated fan base responds to the call, the club would generate approximately Ksh50 million per month.
The projections are based on minimum monthly contributions and do not factor in higher voluntary payments that some supporters may choose to make.
Better Plans for AFC Leopards
The financial model by the Ingwee fans assumes that the club would continue to operate its day-to-day activities independently of its current title sponsorship, with funds from the Ingwee Fans Initiative being used for specific long-term projects.
Among the proposed priority areas is player welfare, including the settlement of salaries for both players and technical staff.
Infrastructure development also features prominently in the plan, with the initiative outlining
The club intends to acquire a permanent residential base for players and to purchase land in Kajiado or Kajiado Central as part of preparations to build a 10,000-capacity stadium.

The proposal also suggests engaging in discussions to mortgage an existing stadium facility that is currently unused to support infrastructure expansion.
Revenue Generation for AFC Leopards Club
As part of the commercial expansion, plans include opening Ingwee-branded shops to sell official merchandise and constructing an Ingwee Hospice complex where sporting activities can be conducted and managed professionally.
These facilities are expected to create additional revenue streams while strengthening the club’s brand presence.
The proposal further calls for the establishment of Ingwee Television and Ingwee Radio.
The two platforms would host programmes and presenters drawn from the club’s community, with several named presenters for the task.
The media platforms are intended to profile Ingwee as a brand, provide content for supporters, and generate advertising revenue.
In the letter to club chairman Bonface Ambani, the stated objectives of the Ingwee Fans Initiative are outlined as increasing player sales revenue, attracting more sponsors to the club, and boosting earnings from strong performances in continental competitions, particularly CAF tournaments.
The proposal states that improved financial stability would enhance the club’s competitiveness on the pitch and strengthen its commercial appeal.
The document concludes by stating that all the outlined goals are achievable through a KSh50 contribution per fan, calling on the AFC Leopards fanbase to unite behind the initiative.
