Migori County’s healthcare sector is supported by hospitals, nursing homes, medical centers, maternity facilities, and specialized clinics approved by the Social Health Authority (SHA).
According to the current SHA provider registry, Migori’s approved healthcare network is largely private providers across Migori Town, Rongo, Awendo, Kehancha, Isebania, Suna, Rapogi, and other parts of the county.
Migori has 321 health facilities, with 165 public, 132 private, 18 faith-based, and 5 operated by NGOs; SHA contracts 263 facilities in the county.
However, the registry lists level 4facilities as the highest level of approved healthcare available in Migori County.
During the launch of the SHA registration campaign and health facility digitization program in the county, Medical Services Principal Secretary Dr. Ouma Oluga noted that the government was committed to improving healthcare delivery through digital systems, enhanced healthcare infrastructure and increased SHA registration.
“SHA digital health rollout is a clear indication that Migori people have chosen health and dignity. They have also chosen Taifa Care,” PS Oluga said.
Public Facilities
Unlike several counties where county referral hospitals dominate the SHA registry, the current provider list identifies Rongo University Clinic as the public institutional facility approved under the framework.
The Level 2 medical clinic provides primary healthcare services, outpatient consultations, preventive care, and treatment for common illnesses.

Private Hospitals in Migori
The highest-ranked facilities in the current registry are Level 4 hospitals that provide inpatient and outpatient treatment, surgical services, maternal healthcare, emergency treatment, and specialist consultations.
The approved Level 4 hospitals are Royal Medical Hospital and Maternity Home Limited, Ojele Memorial Hospital, Sori Lakeside Hospital, Rapogi Community & Maternity Health Center, St. Akidiva Memorial Hospital, Kehancha Mother & Child Hospital, St. Akidiva Mindira Hospital Mabera, and Oasis Doctors Plaza Migori.
SHA has also approved Samjomen Hospital Limited, Ladopharma Nursing Home Limited, Neocare Memorial Hospital, Oasis Ntunyigi Hospital, Bwana Ni Mwema Medical Center, Lifecare Hospital Migori, and Peneza Healthcare Limited as level four facilities.
