The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), in a public notice on February 25, has announced the availability of 12,520 temporary job opportunities for Kenyans.
In a statement on Wednesday, February 25, the commission confirmed that it will undertake a 30- day enhanced voter registration exercise at the ward level.
“The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) will undertake a thirty (30)-day Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) exercise at the ward level,” the statement read in part.
Additionally, it stated that the targeted initiative is intended to augment and reinforce the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) currently being conducted at Constituency offices across the country.
IEBC Opens 12,520 Job Opportunities
As a result of the upcoming activity, the body invited applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill temporary positions for the duration of the Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) exercise.
“To facilitate the efficient and effective delivery of this nationwide exercise, the Commission invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill temporary positions for the duration of the ECVR period,” the statement read.
The body has set a deadline for submitting applications for the temporary positions in the Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration exercise.
“Applications should be received online not later than 4th March 2026,” the Commission stated.
According to the notice, the following temporary positions are open to qualified applicants for engagement in the respective capacities:

Requirements and How to Apply
All applications are to be submitted online at https://jobs.iebc.or.ke before 4th March 2026
According to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, applicants are required to meet specific qualifications for the temporary positions in the Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) exercise.
Additionally, the body has clarified eligibility criteria for applicants, emphasising restrictions related to political participation.
“Applicants must not have held office or stood for election as a candidate or party agent in the last five (5) years,” IEBC clarified.
Applicants must be Kenyan citizens and meet the minimum education requirements for the roles they are applying for.
Successful candidates will be required to be present.

- Copies of academic certificates
- Copies of any other relevant testimonials
“Successful applicants will be required to undergo training and take an oath of secrecy,” the body instructed.
Voter Registration Clerk
Minimum qualifications and requirements include;
- Be a Kenyan citizen aged 19 years and above.
- Hold a minimum KCSE C- (minus) or its equivalent.
- Possess computer literacy and ICT skills.
- Diploma in ICT, Statistics, Education, Business Administration, or related field will be an added advantage.
- Demonstrate integrity, accountability and confidentiality

ICT Clerk
Minimum qualifications and requirements include;
- Certificate or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field from a recognised institution.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software applications and networking.
- Ability to troubleshoot common ICT issues under pressure.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated integrity, neutrality and confidentiality.
- Must be a Kenyan citizen and a registered voter.
- Availability to work long hours, including weekends and public holidays.
Voter Registration Assistant (VRA)
Minimum qualifications and requirements include;
- Must be a Kenyan citizen and a registered voter.
- At least 21 years old, and residents of the constituency/ward they are applying for.
- A minimum of a Diploma in ICT or a related field is required.
- Availability for the entire registration period.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Kiswahili; knowledge of local languages is an added advantage.
- Demonstrated integrity, impartiality, and respect for diversity.
- Willingness to work long hours and under field conditions.
