East African Portland Cement Plc (EAPC PLC) is seeking to recruit a Managing Director (MD) who will also serve as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The Cement Manufacturing Company announced in a notice that the successful candidate will report to the Board of Directors and will be responsible for implementing EAPC PLC’s strategic plans and policies as approved by the Board.

The MD will serve as Leader of the Management Team and represent this team on the Board of Directors.
Other key responsibilities include collaborating with the Board to revitalize the company and drive performance through strategic leadership and direction to management.

Additionally, the MD will spearhead the establishment and sustenance of relationships with strategic partners and stakeholders.
Furthermore, the CEO will ensure achievement of operating financial goals in line with budgets and annual performance contracts negotiated with the parent ministry.

He/she will ensure compliance with applicable statutory, legal, and regulatory requirements while enhancing the company’s public image.
The candidate will maintain a conducive work environment that helps attract, retain, and motivate employees, fostering a culture that promotes ethical practices and good corporate citizenship.
Person Specifications
Applicants must possess the following minimum qualifications:
a) Have a bachelor’s degree(s) from a university accredited by the Commission for University Education.
b) Be a holder of a master’s degree(s) and/or post-graduate qualifications in fields relevant to strategy, Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering and/or Corporate Management.
c)Leadership/Strategic Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
d) Have not less than 10 years at senior management level in large private or public organization(s).
e) Be a member in good standing registered with the body relevant to their profession(s).
f) Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with government, financial sector players and other stakeholders relevant to the Company’s mandate.
Additionally, candidates are expected to fulfil the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and the Leadership and Integrity Act.

Other Requirements

a) Valid certificate of good conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
b) Clearance certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
c) Tax Compliance certificate from KRA
d) Clearance from Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.
e) Clearance certificate from an approved Credit Reference Bureau CRB.

The appointment is for a period of three years, renewable once subject to satisfactory performance and delivery of set performance targets.
