The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is inviting applications from qualified teachers to fill 2,629 vacancies as facilitators and trainers for Junior School teachers in Integrated Science, Mathematics, and English.
TSC, in a circular, announced that a total of 2,340 facilitators and 289 Special Needs Education (SNE) facilitators are required across all counties.
“The Teachers Service Commission is therefore inviting applications for trainers of Junior School teachers for Integrated Science, Mathematics and English,” read the circular in part.
The commission said the announcement follows the extension of the school-based Teacher Support System (SBTSS) to junior schools and Diploma Secondary Teachers Training Colleges (DSTTCs) under the Secondary Education Equity and Quality Improvement Program (SEEQIP).
The initiative, previously implemented under the Secondary Education Quality Improvement Project (SEQIP) from 2017 to 2024, aims to enhance teachers’ pedagogical skills and subject content mastery.
It will be implemented in all 47 counties, including camp-based schools in refugee camps in Garissa and Turkana.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, an applicant must be a registered teacher with the TSC and hold a minimum qualification of a Diploma in Secondary Education in Mathematics, Science, or English.
The applicant must also be trained in Competency-Based Education (CBE) and have at least five years’ teaching experience in a senior or secondary school under the TSC.
Additionally, they should be proficient in computer use and applications, and must be serving in the county of their choice.
