Jonathan Mueke, currently holds the office of Principal Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, State Department for Livestock Development.
He oversees seven (7) state corporations and provides leadership in the livestock industry, livestock policy management, veterinary services and disease control, livestock marketing, livestock training and research, and animal genetic development.
Before being reshuffled by President William Ruto in 2013, he served as Principal Secretary for sports. In his sports docket, he was determined to bring change to stadiums and make sure sports management was properly handled.

Additionally, Jonathan served as a Deputy Governor for Nairobi County. He was the running mate of Dr. Evans Kidero. Previously, he had tried to run for the Westland’s parliamentary seat which was unsuccessful in 2007.
While he was the Deputy Governor of Nairobi County, he oversaw different departments such as Trade and Corporative Roads and Infrastructure, Agriculture, Youth and ICT ministries in the county.
Jonathan Mueke when he was still in the USA, worked at Wayne State University as a Systems Administrator, K-Mart Corporation as a Y2K Systems Developer, DaimlerChrysler Corporation as a Project Manager and Fiserv incorporated as a Technology Services Manager.
