Eckomas Mwengi Mutuse is a Member of Parliament representing Kibwezi West Constituency, elected in August 2022.
He is a member of the Maendeleo Chap Chap party. Mutuse has a strong educational background with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and a Master of Laws (LL.M).

Eckomas Mwengi Mutuse began his formal education at Kanyangu Primary School, where he completed his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) between 1986 and 1993.
He then proceeded to Makueni Boys High School, where he earned his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) between 1994 and 1997.
Later, he joined the University of Nairobi, graduating with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B), Second Class Honours, Upper Division, between 2003 and 2014.

Career Path
Before entering national politics, Mutuse built a strong career in public service and administration.

He served as Chief of Staff for the Machakos County Government from 2013 to 2022.
Earlier, he held roles as Regional Coordinator at Maendeleo Resource Trust (2007–2008) and as Communication Officer at the Cabinet Office, Office of the Government Spokesperson (2004–2007).
In August 2022, he was elected Member of Parliament for Kibwezi West Constituency on a Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) party ticket, marking the beginning of his first term in the 13th Parliament.
Early in his parliamentary tenure, he was appointed Vice Chair of the Justice & Legal Affairs Committee, marking his entry into legislative leadership.
In October 2024, he made headlines by tabling a significant impeachment motion against the Deputy President, citing Articles 145 and 150 of the Constitution.
