Biography
Korir SingOei is the Principal Secretary of Foreign Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs.
Korir is also a Legal & policy expert with focus on human rights law particularly minority and indigenous rights law, decentralization, land and resource governance, environment and climate change and FPIC.
Education of Korir Sing’Oei
Korir attended Moi High School Kabarak where he completed his secondary school education.
He studied Law and Global Public Policy at the University of Nairobi, the University of Pretoria, the University of Minnesota Law School and the University of Cape town Law School.
Academic Achievements and Publications
Sing’Oei is a Fulbright scholar in 2007/8 at the University of Minnesota School of Public Affairs.
According to Korir, his scholarly writings have been published in reputable international legal journals and edited volumes.
With his latest publication, Empowering Paradigms in African Property Law was published in December 2013 by the African Institute of South Africa (AISA).
Experience
Prior to his role, he served as the Senior Legal Advisor to the Deputy President of Kenya where he provided counsel and guidance on Intergovernmental relations and coordination of international development partnerships with a focus on Open Governance and Rule of Law.
Dr. SingOei is an International Law expert and convener of Open Government Partnership for Kenya.
Previously he served as Litigation Director, Katiba Institute, Conflict and Rule of Law Specials it at the US Agency for International Development and Founding Director, Centre for Minority Rights Development (Cemiride).
Additionally, he has been a Research Fellow at the Centre for Justice and International Law in Washington DC.
Dr. SingOei is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and has Studied law and global public at Tilburg Law School in the Netherlands.
