Controversial content creator Andrew Kibe on Thursday, September 14 unveiled a content sharing platform, Yafreeka.
This came days after YouTube terminated his account that had amassed a big following with more than 500,000 subscribers.
In a video which he shared online, the US-based content creator announced that over 10,000 people had registered on the platform.
According to him, the number of users on the platform had shot up from 1,000 on Wednesday, September 13, to 10,000.
“Yesterday when I started the show, I had 1,000 registered members. Today before I started the show, I checked with my guys we are at 10,000,” Kibe stated.
“10,000 people uploading their content, hundreds of watch time.”
Further, Kibe noted that Yafreeka will be looking to increase the number of signed up users in Kenya before expanding to other countries in Africa.

A spot-check by The Kenya Times established that some of the content uploaded on the platform had amassed over 300 views.
Besides video content, the site will host podcasts, scripts, and short videos. It also allows users to customize their interface by switching between dark and light mode.
Additionally, users will be able to create their own channels and create, like and share content.
Kibe’s come-back strategy
Shortly after, news about his termination from YouTube broke, Kibe and his compatriot IQ Watson announced the launch of their new channel.

The two have vouched for the platform to compete with YouTube and other content sharing platforms.
Since the account’s termination, Kibe has trained his focus on X spaces, Rumble and Tik Tok where he has gone live on several occasions to affirm that he is on internet to stay.
Meanwhile, Kenyans across social media have expressed mixed reactions with a section calling out YouTube for limiting free speech.
However, a section of social media users commenting lauded the move citing incidents where the former journalist has gone overboard in attacking prominent people in Kenya.
Notably, Kibe is not new to controversy and has in the course of his content creation journey picked up fights with several people.
