Comedian and content Baba Kaunty has confirmed leaving the Oga Obinna show and has explained the circumstances that have led to his departure.
Taking to his social media pages, Baba County stated that he has new commitments that collide with the day that the show airs, which could not allow him to continue to be a part of the show.

“It was my own decision to leave the Obinna Show. It has been a tough decision that I have been thinking about hard since the beginning of this year,” he said.
Baba Kaunty states reason for leaving
“I did not have the words to tell Obinna that there are other things that I have to do on Mondays because mostly the show airs on Monday and there are some small trainings that take two to three months,” Baba Kaunty added.

The content creator also reminisced on his journey at the show stating that Oga Obinna has groomed him into what he is today.

“I was part of the show even before it rebranded. We began when it was still Kula Kooler show, I was auditioned, and after that, Obinna has been upgrading,” stated Baba Kaunty.
“When I joined the team, Obinna took me as his brother, he taught me a lot and he also gave me a brand,” added the comedian.
Change of name from Mama Kaunty
Baba Kaunty worked as a waiter, bringing guests drinks as Obinna interviewed them. He often cross-dressed and wore makeup while playing his part and mimicked a lady’s voice.

“Most people do not understand the role of Baba Kaunty. Normally when you meet guests in an interview they are usually very uptight so he comes in to ease the tension and to make them feel easy,” stated Oga Obinna.
The comedian, whose real name is Protus Wangamati however ditched cross-dressing and changed his name from Mama Kaunty to Baba Kaunty. This was after he was harshly criticized for cross-dressing.
