Sonko Exposes Obinna Over Kimani Mbugua’s Treatment

Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Tuesday, January 21, criticized Oga Obinna and Kimani Mbugua’s father for discussing issues related to former Citizen TV journalist Kimani Mbugua on Obinna’s live show.

Sonko expressed disapproval, stating that airing matters concerning Kimani on a live show was unnecessary.

“Discussing Kimani Mbugua on Obinna’s live show was unnecessary, and I urge my good friend Obinna to use his platform with greater responsibility.”

“In the meantime, I will reach out to both Kimani’s father and Obinna to request that they stop further live discussions or sharing content related to Kimani Mbugua,” Sonko stated.

Sonko argued that exposing Kimani’s personal and health issues or differences with his father on public platforms could lead to feelings of rejection and abandonment, which might have detrimental consequences.

“It is important for Kimani Mbugua’s father to recognize that his son is still in the process of recovery and should be treated with a lot of care. Otherwise, Kimani may experience feelings of rejection and abandonment, potentially leading to harmful actions,” Sonko said.

The former governor also urged Kimani’s father to avoid disclosing personal issues or sharing private messages with Obinna on his show.

“It is wrong for you as a parent to share message conversations you had with your child, even if the messages might have offended you. As a parent myself, there are times my children offend me, but I choose to give them another chance,” Sonko advised.
