Charlene Ruto Reveals Her Mentors, Names Her Celebrity Crush

President William Ruto’s daughter, Charlene Ruto, revealed that her father is her mentor.

Speaking in an online interview, Charlene named her mentors including her father, Nobel Peace Prize winner Wangari Maathai, and Dr. Bimal Kantaria who is in the agriculture space. 

She also stated that she looks forward to building better relationships with young people in 2025.

“The highlight of my career is when I started working with young people. I want to be strategic and more focused in 2025 in building relationships with young people that I have been meeting over the past few years,” stated Charlene

Charlene also refuted allegations that did rounds on social media that she is a lesbian. She stated that it was the weirdest rumor she has ever heard about herself.

When asked about her celebrity crush, Charlene stated that she would love to be married to a Kenyan man despite having a crush on a non-Kenyan. She revealed that her crush is the Grammy-winning American gospel musician Jonathan McReynolds.

Charlene was speaking at the Kenya Institute of Special Education which brought together youth leaders to explore innovative solutions and leadership strategies that will enable them to influence policy at a national level.

Charlene speaks of future leadership

Speaking at the event, she urged young people to shift their mindsets towards leadership in order to influence change.

“Through the initiative, we are encouraged to adopt innovative approaches and critical thinking in addressing societal issues, thus igniting generations of changemakers and empowering them to shape the future together,” stated Charlene.

She affirmed the goal of the initiative in shaping future leadership.

“Despite their active involvement in policy engagement, this leadership discourse aims to retool 40 Presidents and Deputy Presidents from 20 counties, thereby igniting a generation of change-makers and empowering them to shape the future,” she added.
