Popular comedian Eric Omondi has named a newly constructed bridge after a young schoolgirl who was captured in a viral video crossing a flooded river in Kisii County.
Omondi announced the completion of the new bridge on his social media account on February 15, 2024.
The renowned comedian further revealed that it has since been named after the schoolgirl he identified as Baby Kemunto.
“Kemunto bridge is complete. This young girl has changed a whole community. She is a hero. This bridge is not only historical but also extremely symbolic. It symbolizes a people’s resolve; it symbolizes the power in unity! That Kenyans can come together and solve their problems,” said Omondi.
Impressed by the completion of the bridge, Omondi shared a video of the newly upgraded bridge and his photos while walking across the river with the young girl.
In a strong statement, the comedian turned activist claimed that he will continue bridging the gaps between the poor and the wealthy.
“We are bridging the gaps created by political and tribal divisions. Team sisi kwa sisi nothing is impossible! Together everything is achievable!” he added.
