Nominated senator Karen Nyamu has through a post on Social Media application Instagram informed her followers that she managed to retrieve her WhatsApp account.
Nyamu confirmed that her account was back saying her enemies will never win. Additionally, she noted that her tough headed nature was because she is God’s last-born child.
“My WhatsApp is back hehehe, my enemies will never win! I am like God’s lastborn that’s why I am hardheaded,” she updated.
This came hours after she had complained online that her account was down following the many texts she received from Kenyans after her number leaked online.

The messages were sent in retaliation of the senator’s support of the controversial Finance Bill 2024.
Nyamu noted that a section of Kenyans sent her money ranging from Kshs 1 to Ksh 5 in a bid to confirm her number before spamming her WhatsApp account with message resulting in its closure.
“Despite sending me a lot of 1kshs and 5kshs, you can see what texting me constantly on WhatsApp has done…. are you happy now that I can’t chat?” she posed in the initial post.
Likewise, she stated that her M-PESA is now open and asked Kenyans to send her money, a minimum of Kshs 5 and above.
“Let the M-PESA come, Kshs 5 and above,” she added.

Karen Nyamu Bashed Over Finance Bill 2024
A section of Kenyans online came out to slam the nominated senator after she voted Yes to the Finance Bill 2024.
Nyamu angered netizens over her remarks that she didn’t care about sanitary towels getting heavily taxed as she does not use them herself.
On Tuesday, June 13, the National Assembly Finance Committee Chair Kuria Kimani said that locally manufactured goods would not be taxed.
“The eco levy will only be chargeable to imported finished products. All locally manufactured items and especially diapers and sanitary towels will not be subject to eco levy,” Kimani said.
However, in response, Kenyans online quickly pointed out that there were very few local companies that manufactured pads in the country.

Karen Struggles to Explain the Finance Bill
However, this is not the first time Senator Nyamu is on the spot over the controversial Bill.
In May 28, Nyamu attempted to explain the contents of the Finance Bill 2024 and shared her views on the proposed taxes.
The youtubers interviewing her appeared confused as she struggled to articulate her understanding of the Bill.
While responding, she initially stuttered before launching into a disjointed defense of the Bill claiming that the government was taxing wealthier Kenyans while relieving the common mwananchi.
“You can be lamenting that President Ruto is taxing us a lot which in contrast he has removed taxes for people at the bottom while increasing taxes for example for those people importing beds from abroad,” she added.
Additionally, she called out people complaining about the bill asking them to first find out its context and if there are any imposed taxes that affect them directly.
Karen further criticized those complaining about the bill, urging them to first understand its context and determine if any of the imposed taxes directly affect them.
This earned her more online criticism with netizens questioning her knowledge on such matters as a senator.
