Mama Baha, the talented actress known for her role in the popular Kenyan TV show, Machachari, has been out of the acting scene for a while. However, she has not lost her love for acting and is eager to make a comeback soon.
In a recent interview, Mama Baha revealed that after being in multiple acting roles for over 20 years, she decided to take a break. The hiatus, she said, was a good decision. “Kazi tunarudia,” she added, “we’ll come back to work.” She explained that the acting industry does not have a cut-off time and needs to step back.
Mama Baha is confident that she will not become irrelevant, as content is king, and has many stories to tell. Even though she has been away for some time, she believes that consumers are still there, and reinvention is the game.
Repeat episodes of Machachari, a TV program in which Mama Baha is featured, are still airing on Citizen TV. However, no actor from the show is earning royalties because they did not sign a contract to ensure they get royalties.

In the interview, Mama Baha talked about how she misses acting with her TV children, whom she considers family. “Our chemistry was real; it was not forced. I am proud to have acted with them,” she said. She is now working on a feature film, among other exciting projects.
Mama Baha advises people to ensure they are in order before contacting her. “You must also understand that I’m going through normal life. There are those we meet and talk to, and I advise them, listen to them. They are family, but everyone has their life, and my life is also challenging. So, before you reach out, make sure you have your life in order,” she said.
With her wealth of experience and countless stories to tell, it’s safe to say that her comeback will be nothing short of spectacular. Stay tuned for Mama Baha’s triumphant return to the acting scene.
