Mejja Faces Challenges While Performing at Shoke Shoke

Genge Music sensation Mejja known for his outstanding, energetic performances, struggled to give his best during the Shoke Shoke festive at the KICC.

Nigerian songbird Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe popularly known as Arya Starr, headlined the event, attracting hundreds of youthful revellers from all over the country. Nairobi city boss Hon. Johnson Sakaja, Lang’ata Legislator Felix Odiwuor aka Jalang’o and media personality Shaffie Weru were in attendance.

Several Kenyan artists including the likes of Khaligraph Jones, The OnlyRosa, Boutros, and Mejja also attended the event.

Mejja was doing his first performance in two months, after taking a break due to throat issues. The artist had opened up to Willy M Tuva about his medical condition and asked his fans to pray for him. He further shared about his break from music, as advised by his doctor, to allow him to recuperate.

Although he announced a comeback one week ago, Mejja made it clear that his doctor had advised him to take it slow as he had not made a full recovery.

He took the stage after Khaligraph Johns, and the Mcee did their best to back him up with crowd hype and heavy backup music because his voice was a bit low, and he did not have the charisma and energy that his fans are used to.Ā 

His fans through social media encouraged him to take all the time needed to recover before making a full comeback to the scene.
