Sauti Sol Announces Dates for Last Gig

The show is set to take place from November 2nd to 4th, with the artists promising a mouthwatering display. 

The Sauti Sol Music band has announced their last series of performances which will take place at the Uhuru Gardens.

In a statement on Friday, August 4, the popular band penned a juicy message inviting fans to be part of their end journey.

The show is set to take place from November 2nd to 4th, with the artists promising a mouthwatering display. 

“It’s not just the end of an era, but the beginning of a legacy that will forever remain etched in the hearts of their fans. Don’t miss the chance to be part of history as Sauti Sol take their last dance before going on a hiatus,” Solfest Africa Instagram page read.

Furthermore, they also announced that the tickets for the Solfest are now on sale from August 4 to November 2 for VIP, and to November 4 for the fans.

The tickets for the VIP performance on 2 November will go for Ksh20,000.

This will include a 5-star banquet style dinner, complimentary welcome drinks, intimate performance by the Sauti Sol, exclusive Sauti sol merchandise pack, and meet and greet with the band.

Moreover, the gates will open at 5:30 pm, dinner at 7pm and a performance by the band at from 8:30 pm.

However, the band asked Kenyans to purchase tickets in advance because they are limited.

For fans’ performances on November 4, the charges are Ksh6,500, and this will be their last main show set to start from 4pm.

Additionally, on November 3, there will be a behind the scenes tour, meet and greet and a walk away with exclusive Sauti Sol goodie bag, this will be from 2PM to 4PM.

This is their last show as a band, as they had announced that they will henceforth pursue their music careers as individuals after over 20 years of working together.

“We are filled with gratitude for the love and support we have received throughout the years.

While we take this hiatus to pursue our individual and collective passions, we remain committed to our friendship and our shared businesses.

The bond between us is unbreakable and we are excited for what the future holds,” said the band.

Who are the Sauti Sol

Sauti Sol is a Kenyan Afropop band formed in Nairobi in 2005 by vocalists Bien-Aimé Baraza, Willis Chimano and Savara Mudigi. 

Initially it was an a cappella group, guitarist Polycarp Otieno joined before they named themselves Sauti Sol.

Sauti Sol released their debut studio album Mwanzo on 1 November 2008, to critical acclaim.

Their second studio album, Sol Filosofia, was released on 25 February 2011, earning the group several accolades and nominations in the process.

On 18 June 2012, the band released a self-titled extended play in collaboration with South African rapper and record producer Spoek Mathambo. 

Also, the band released its third studio album, Live and Die in Afrika, online on 21 November 2015 as a free download, available for 48 hours as an early Christmas present.

On 31 January 2019, they released the African Sauce album this marked the departure from traditional acoustic sound of their previous albums.

Later, on 5 June 2020, they released their fifth album Midnight Train that comprised of thirteen tracks in English, Swahili, and Luhya.

In 2023, they have released an EP, Tujiangalie that featured many Kenyan artists like Khaligraph Jones, Brandy Mina, Brukyn Boys, Bensoul and Nviiri the Storyteller.

The band has had several successful tours in Africa and Europe, topped Kenyan charts and gained international attention with shows in Europe and the US.

Also, they have had television appearances and various accolades and nominations, including their 2011 concert performance in Kenya with South African a cappella group Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

Sauti Sol has also received both local and international accolades and nominations, including at the Kisima Music Awards, the Channel O Music Video Awards, the MTV Europe Music Awards, and the BET Awards.
