Atwoli Advises Ruto on What to Consider After Firing Cabinet Secretaries

Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli has welcomed President William Ruto’s decision to dismantle the Cabinet.

In a statement issued on July 11, Atwoli, speaking on behalf of COTU, stated that the President’s bold move marks a crucial step towards the much-needed transformation and renewal of Kenya.

“Kenya stands at a pivotal moment in its history, a moment that calls for profound transformation and renewal.”

“Today’s decision by President William Ruto to dissolve the Cabinet marks a significant step towards this much-needed rebirth,” read the statement in part.

Atwoli said the decision is a step towards addressing the grievances and aspirations of the Kenyan people.

“This bold and decisive action is a modern approach to addressing the grievances and aspirations of the Kenyan people,” he said.

Call for A Competent and Dedicated Cabinet

In addition, Atwoli emphasized that the challenges facing the nation demand a Cabinet composed of competent and experienced Kenyans who are dedicated to serving the interests of all citizens.

“It is within time for the President to have a team that not only defends the policies of the government but also effectively articulates the needs and priorities of the nation.”

“The challenges we face require a Cabinet composed of competent and experienced Kenyans who are committed to serving the interests of all citizens and also answer telephone calls from members of the public for accountability purposes and consultations,” read part of the statement by Atwoli.

Furthermore, he said that what the nation needed was leaders dedicated to serving the people and different from the ones who are full of ego and a hunger for power.

“Notably what Kenya requires are Servants of the People and not Bosses full of Ego and hungry for Power,” he added.

He stressed the importance of the new Cabinet being inclusive and broadly representative of the country’s diverse society.

Atwoli Urges Ruto to Prioritize National Unity

As President Ruto embarks on forming a new Cabinet, Atwoli urged him to prioritize national unity.

The COTU leader expressed confidence that with a renewed and united Cabinet, the country can overcome its current challenges and progress towards a prosperous future.

“We are confident that with a renewed and united Cabinet, our nation can overcome the current challenges and move towards a future of prosperity and justice for all.”

Similarly, Atwoli assured that Kenyan workers stand firmly behind President Ruto in this endeavor.

He conveyed the workers’ unwavering support for the President’s efforts to rebuild and strengthen the country.

“The President has our full support as workers as he takes this momentous step to rebuild and strengthen our beloved country,” said COTU.
