Savannah Clinker boss who wants to buy Bamburi Cement was arrested on Thursday November 28. Benson Ndeta was arrested in Valey Arcade then thereafter taken to DCI headquarters where he was questioned then taken to Muthaiga Police Station.
Ndeta’s arrest followed the approval of charges by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Renson Ingonga, related to allegations of fraud at Savannah Cement.
These charges are connected to an alleged fraudulent deal worth Ksh 700 million aimed at expanding Savannah Cement, a matter that has been under investigation since 2019.
Ndeta was reported by his colleagues, who are directors, for fraudulently obtaining an extract of a board meeting and transferring 4,500 shares to a company known as Seruji Limited.

Additionally, the DPP is seeking an extradition request from the U.S. government for Charles Hills Junior, who is believed to be an accomplice of Ndeta in the alleged fraud scheme. The DPP intends for Charles to face charges in Kenya.
The arrest of the Savannah boss comes at a time when several bidders are competing to purchase Bamburi Cement.
Kalonzo demands for the release of Savannah Clinker Boss
His arrest has sparked mixed reactions, particularly from Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, who visited the Muthaiga Police Station.
Musyoka claims that the arrest is a ploy to intimidate the Savannah Clinker boss and obstruct his bid for Bamburi Cement.
“The arrest of Kenyan industrialist Benson Sande Ndeta on Thursday, November 28, is intended to thwart his bid for Bamburi Cement, by any means necessary. This is what our country has become. They attempted to tarnish his name on social media, and they want Mr. Ndeta indicted. However, Benson Ndeta is not Adani!” Kalonzo stated.

Kalonzo further emphasized that Ndeta is a hard-working Kenyan who dared to dream, and he demanded his immediate and unconditional release from custody at the Muthaiga Police Station in Nairobi.
“Ndeta is not a flight risk, and there is no reason to keep him here overnight. We will go to court to defend the interests of the country,” the opposition leader added.
