The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) issued a late-night statement cancelling repeat election in Kamukunji Constituency, Nairobi.
The election was set to take place on place Thursday 6th June,2024 at Hustler center at 9:00am.
According to a notice issued by the party, repeat elections for the religious seat will not be taking place due to unavoidable circumstances.
“Due to unavoidable circumstances the repeat election for the religious position in Kamkunji constituency will not take place as planned, ’read part of notice from Anthony Mwaura, UDA National Election Board Chair.
In addition, the party promised to give more information on the rescheduling of the election.

“We regret any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. Further the information regarding the rescheduling of this election will be communicated in due course,’’ read the statement.

UDA Election Disputes
This announcement came after the party had announced the repeat of the elections in both Kamukunji and Starehe constituencies.
The repeat polls were necessitated as the process was unsuccessful due to chaos that erupted.
Additionally, the party said eligible voters are elected ward officials from Ward elections conducted on 18th of May,2024 and repeat ward election conducted on 19th May ,2024.
Likewise Nominated and elected Members of the national assembly are eligible to participate in the process.
UDA affirmed that it’s Electoral and Nomination Dispute Resolution Committee will receive and investigate complaints concerning the ward elections.
‘We wish to notify our members that the Electoral and Nomination Dispute Resolution Committee will be receiving complaints concerning the just completed ward elections,” the public notice read.
