Public Service Cabinet Secretary (CS) Moses Kuria has unveiled a plan for the government to start offering compulsory courses for civil servants at the Kenya School of Government (KSG).
In a statement on Monday, December 11, Kuria said he held a meeting with KSG Council Members led by the Chairperson, Ms. Njoki Kahiga.
Afterwards, they agreed on the new ministerial agenda for the KSG re-engineering programme.
The introduction of KSG mandatory courses for public servants was one of the agenda set by the members who attended the meeting.

Further, the CS revealed that KSG will partner with the Global Center for Adaptation.
Besides, Kuria said his ministry will reestablish KSG as a Center for Productivity for the Government.
Another top priority for KSG is the hosting of the Global Partners Conference in April 2024.
Additionally, Kuria said KSG will partner with the Mohamed Bin Rashid School of Government and the African Union (AU).
Again, the CS explained the ministry will construct the Vihiga School of Government Campus through the National Youth Service (NYS).
Further, there will be outsourcing KSG Hotels to the private sector.
Finally, KSG will introduce master’s degree courses.
Also present during the meeting was PS State Department for Public Service Mr. Amos Gathecha.

The school offers capacity building programs on leadership and management related issues through:

Further, the capacity development programs and services that the school offers are geared to meet expectations of citizens in institutional performance by enabling public officials to:
1.Efficiently and promptly respond to citizen needs.

3.Discharge duties professionally.
4.Embrace corruption-free behavior.

Notably, the programs cater also for public servants in Government ministries, state corporations, constitutional commissions, the Judiciary, legislature, and County Governments.
The trainees attend the programs in the five KSG campuses at Baringo, Embu, Lower Kabete, Matuga and Mombasa.
Online programs that are coordinated by the e-Learning and Development Institute are also available to participants.
