President William Ruto adorned a BVLGARI Finissimo watch during one of his engagements in Meru County, becoming a topic of discussion with Kenyans marveling at its revealed value.
In his development tour of the county, President Ruto was seen wearing the watch with a brown shade around his left wrist to complement his brown Kaunda suit.
The watch, a BVLGARI Finissimo, is manufactured by an Italian jewelry brand, BVLGARI, which is known for its elegance and the sense of special status it exudes.
A unit of BVLGARI Finissimo costs about Ksh8 million depending on several other features.

The Finissimo watches come with a peculiar design that appears as an octagon. For years now, the Finissimo has earned recognition as a masterpiece due its ultra-thin design.
Some of the features offered by the brand include a perpetual calendar, tourbillon, and minute repeaters.
In addition, the watch is water resistant and comes with a warranty of up to five years.
Between its 7 and 8 o’clock markers, the watch has a decentralized seconds dial to track the seconds as they elapse, giving it an artistic look.

At first, BVLGARI started as a jewelry maker and eventually transitioned into manufacturing high-jewelry timepieces.
Several politicians and government officials have in the past sparked heated debates with their high-end accessories or clothes.

Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen for instance, has on several occasions showed up in the public while wearing high end watches.
One time, he was spotted with a Hublot Classic Fusion Ceramic King Gold watch valued at around Ksh2 million.
In yet another public appearance in 2023, Murkomen sparked reactions after showing up wearing a pair Gucci sneaker valued at Ksh131,000 at the time.

Addressing his preference for high end accessories, the CS said he has had a knack for watches since his childhood days and even shared a story about how his father bought his first-ever watch.
“I missed being number one with two marks. My father had mercy on me and bought me that watch. I think that is where my love for watches started. That passion and background should never make you give up,” he said.
Similarly, Siaya Senator James Orengo made headlines after it emerged that a shirt, he donned while attending his son’s dowry payment ceremony was worth Ksh263,000.
The shirt was a Versace which is a global Italian fashion brand.
Versace indicated on its website then that the shirt is made of 100 percent silk and featured the Barocco print, which is popular with affluent buyers hence the pricing.
