The family of Liam Kipruto is seeking answers after their three-year-old son died in a mysterious accident involving their school bus on Friday 9, 2024.
The family said they received a report on Friday evening from Goodrich International School where Liam was schooling that he had passed on in a tragic accident involving their school bus an hour after leaving school.
Upon inquiring what happened, they were informed that, Liam was sitting in the core driver’s seat when he opened the door which was not properly locked and jumped out leading to him being run over by the tires of the bus.
“When we asked the driver what happened, he said Liam was sitting in front with him, so the kid opened the door and jumped out. After that he said he just heard people calling him that the kid was falling and before he could stop, he had already run over him,” said Deborah Nasirembe, a relative.
Liam Kipruto Family Concerns
However, the family led by Liam’s parents said they are not satisfied with the explanations.
They questioned why the driver, and the bus matron passed their home which was 2 kilometres away from the scene without dropping their son.
“Why did you take my child in the bush because that place is bushy, why is it that you left my house and took my son there? I need to know the truth,” said Marcy Nasirembe, Liam’s mother.
Likewise, the child’s father asked why the school allowed Liam to sit alone in the core driver’s seat, a section of the bus meant for adults.
“Where was the matron who is supposed to take care of the children? Why did they allow the child to sit in front by himself without an attendant? The front seat is usually designed for adults and maybe to be supervised by somebody who is older than the child,” said Elijah Kimutai, Liam’s father.

Goodrich School
Liam’s family also blamed the school administration for the accident, adding that they had failed to answer their questions.
However, Goodrich International School administration promised to release a statement on the matter but is yet to do so.
“As much as I have lost my son, I need to know the truth of what really transpired. The school is really avoiding us. They don’t want to tell us what really transpired, we call them, but they give excuses. Is like they are not really feeling our pain,” said Mercy.
