A suspected global Facebook outage on June 12 left users unable to access their accounts.
Facebook users across multiple countries reported problems accessing the platform on June 12, sparking concerns over a possible global outage affecting the social media platform.

Users reported being suddenly logged out of their Facebook accounts and unable to regain access, with repeated error messages appearing even after entering correct login details.

Outage tracking platforms recorded a surge in complaints, with thousands of users flagging problems ranging from login failures to difficulty loading feeds and sending messages.
Reports indicated that the issue was not isolated, with users in different regions experiencing similar problems at the same time.
Some users reported being locked out mid-session, while others encountered persistent error messages even after entering correct login details.
Similar complaints were also reported on Instagram and Messenger, indicating the disruption may have affected several Meta-owned platforms.
The outage started around 1:40 p.m. UTC, with complaints increasing as the day progressed, particularly in parts of Asia and the United States.

In the United States, many complaints were linked to app issues, while others involved login failures. Similar reports were recorded in other regions, with users saying they were locked out of their accounts while using them normally.
In the Philippines and elsewhere, complaints increased quickly, with users turning to other platforms to confirm the issue and share their experiences.
Large outages affecting Meta platforms are usually linked to technical problems within the company’s global systems. These may include faulty updates, login system failures, or network issues that interrupt access.
Because Meta’s platforms are closely connected, a problem in one system can quickly affect others, leading to widespread disruption.
Meta said the disruption is linked to a “technical issue” affecting access, logins, feeds, and Messenger for many users.
A similar incident occurred in October 2021, when a routine maintenance command accidentally disconnected Facebook’s data centres from the internet, triggering a global outage that lasted more than six hours.
