Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has advertised tenders for leasing and management of tourism sites in National Parks.
In the advert on April 2, KWS invited bids for the leasing of the Nairobi National Park located at the Kisembe Site, Rangers Site, KWS Club House Site, Sebastian Restaurant Site and the Southern Bypass Sites.
KWS explained that the information for the above sites are as follows;12-20 Bed Luxury Tented Camp, 20 Bed Business Hotel, Restaurant and Events Grounds and Restaurant and Open Use respectively.
“KWS is inviting interested and eligible investors for leasing, development and management of tourism sites in selected KWS managed National Parks as outlined,” the advert read in part.
At the same time, KWS also announced the leasing of Fig Tree Site with a 40-60 Bed Tented Camp/Ecolodge at the Meru National Park.
KWS also plans to lease another 40-80 Bed Lodge/Tented Camp at Mulika Site within the same park.
“Tender documents containing detailed specifications and requirements can be downloaded for free at the KWS website; www.kws.go.ke and Public Procurement Information Portal; https://www.tenders.go.ke/website,” KWS said.
Bids have also been invited for the Daraja La Mbao Site at the Amboseli National Park. The site has a 12 Bed Luxury Tented Camp.

Other Listed National Parks
Additionally, investors can send tenders for the Tusk Camp Site at Aberdare National Park which has a 12-16 bed tented camp.
“All clarifications and/or amendments will be published in the KWS website and tenderers are required to check for any addendums or amendments in the course of the bidding period prior to the closing date,” read the advert in part.
KWS also seeks to lease the Ndololo and Patterson Sites both with 30 Bed Tented Camp/Ecolodge within Tsavo East National Park.
Besides, the Service invited bids for 30 Bed Tented Camps/Ecolodge at the Kanjaro Site and River Hippo Safari Sites within Tsavo West National Park.

Application Procedure
Interested candidates may seek further information from the Procurement office, KWS, Headquarters between 8am to 5pm during weekdays.

“The completed bids in plain sealed envelope marked with tender reference number and tender name, shall be deposited into the Tender Box located at the entrance of Main Reception, KWS Headquarters, Langata Road P.O. Box 40241, Nairobi on or before 16th April 2024 at 1130hrs E.A.T,” read the advert in part.
The tenders shall be opened immediately thereafter in the presence of bidder’s representatives who wish to attend at KWS Vet Board Room.
