The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) has warned of imposters swindling unsuspecting members of the public by claiming to help them access the Authority’s services.
In a statement, on November 7, 2023, the authority noted that the fraudsters were calling unsuspecting customers, threatening unspecified consequences for non-registration of SIM cards.
Therefore, the authority has called on Kenyans to submit reports of any suspicious cases.
‘We call on the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious individuals masquerading as CA staff, for necessary action,” the Authority noted.
Further, the communications authority revealed that aspiring license applicants were a major target as the con artists pretended to help them.

At the same time, the authority noted that its website contains information on various regulated services and associated fees for reference by Kenyans.
