There are claims from a section of social media users that the Social Health Authority (SHA) system has been hacked.
In a post on his Facebook and X pages, a user named ‘Hon Peter Kalerwa Salasya’ said the system, which costs Ksh104 billion, has been hacked.
He stated that the government could have given the money to university students specialized in software engineering to construct a system for SHA.
He went to post a screenshot of the purported hacking, which alleged that the SHA site cannot be found.
The screenshot stated the following as the potential reasons for the system downtime.
- You haven’t deployed an app yet.
- You may have deployed an empty directory.
- This is a custom domain, but we haven’t finished setting it up yet.
How can I deploy my first app?
He also claimed that the site was referring users to its hosting documentation to get started.
SHA System Available & Fuctional
However, a factcheck by The Kenya Times revealed that the SHA system is up and running.
Kenyans can log into the SHA system as they normally do, and there is no interference at all.
The system is available and functional; registered users can either use the browser or the SHA app.
They can also access all the services offered at the SHA site and update their details like phone number.
