Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko on Saturday, May 28 morning attended a church service in Mombasa alongside his main rivals for the Mombasa gubernatorial seat; Abdulswamad Nassir and Hassan Omar Hassan.
Aspiring Mombasa Governor Mike Sonko, after exchanging pleasantries with his opponents noted that the coastal county and Kenya in general does not have room for war-mongering politicians. He added that every political hopeful, irrespective of class, gender, ethnicity or religious background, should promote peace during the forthcoming August elections and encourage their followers to do so too.
Taking to social media, Mike Sonko posted pictures from the event which was organized by Mombasa clergy in a bid to endorse peaceful elections come August.
“We are one and we are all human. As I have always put it, color, tribe, religion, family background and societal beliefs should not divide us leaders. We should all fear God and always stick to what we say,” Sonko stated in a tweet.
