Christ Is The Answer Ministries (CITAM) – previously Nairobi Pentecostal Church – NPC, launched an ambitious two-year fundraising campaign dubbed “Together in Generosity,” with a target of Ksh. 2.5 billion.
The funds are intended to cater for the purchase of parcels of land and the construction of permanent sanctuaries. The campaign was launched in April 2024.
“Help us raise Ksh 2.5 billion in two years to settle 24 assemblies by purchasing parcels of land and constructing permanent sanctuaries,” read a statement on CITAM’s website.
“Fill the pledge form today and together, let’s have 23 assemblies move to permanent buildings.”
CITAM Church’s 2-Year Campaign to Raise Ksh. 2.5 B
To give their pledges, individuals can log into the CITAM app, available on both Android and iOS, by searching for CITAM or CITAM Church, respectively.
Various modes of giving have been provided to accommodate different preferences, including MPESA as well as cheque payments.
Additional options include bank transfers, cash donations, and contributions in kind.
However, the drive has left some church members questioning the transparency and timing of the initiative, particularly given the current economic hardships faced by many.
One anonymous church member raised a serious concern, suggesting that the campaign could be a cover for money laundering activities.
The individual speculated that CITAM churches are being used to collect large sums—reportedly up to Ksh. 65 million per assembly—under the guise of building permanent structures.
“But in the face of economic hardship amongst members, ni kusomewa Kila Sunday about the slow pledge redemption. Parents are struggling with fees. I suspect the regime is about laundering cash through CITAM. Maybe I am wrong, but worth looking into,” the source said requesting anonymity.

CITAM’s Financial Reports in 2023
The total income for CITAM by the end of 2023 was Ksh. 3,276,000,000.
This comprised Ksh. 2,312,000,000 from assemblies’ income, Ksh. 782 million from projects’ income, and Ksh. 182 million from outreach ministries’ income.
The income for the year 2023 increased by 13% (Ksh 387 million) up from Ksh. 2.89 billion in 2022 net of intra-ministry sales.
According to CITAM, this was attributed to the progressive economic recovery, and full lifting of COVID-19 restrictions hence resuming full operations in the business environment.
Assemblies’ income increased by 23% to Ksh. 2.312 billion up from Ksh 2.042 billion, with most of the Assemblies recording income growth in 2023 compared to 2022.
This was attributable to a significant increase in tithe and offerings, full-year performance for the new assemblies and strengthening of the USD to Ksh which was favourable for the international churches.
Business units’ income increased by 4% to Ksh. 782 million up from Ksh. 750 million in 2022.
This was due to increased sales in some business units (Kadolta, outfitters, business park, Kiserian farm and the increased pupil enrolment in Clay City and Rongai schools). However, the marginal growth of income was due to the decrease of schools’ academic terms from 4 in 2022 to 3 terms in 2023.
ADVERT
Outreach ministries’ income increased by 70% to Ksh. 182 million up from Ksh 107 million in 2022. This is due to increased donations for donor-funded projects towards support of drought-stricken communities in Northern Kenya.
