Biography
Bishop Calisto Odede is the presiding bishop of Christ Is The Answer Ministries (CITAM) as well as the chancellor, of Pan Africa Christian University.
He was born in 1962 in Migori County.
Education background of Calisto Odede
Bishop Odede attended Kadika Primary School after which he joined Cardinal Otunga High School for his ‘O’ level and ‘A’ level education
He holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Kenyatta University, Biblical Studies from Trinity International University (USA) and degree in Missiological Studies from Bethany International University (Singapore). He is currently a PhD candidate at Stellenbosch University (South Africa).
Career
Bishop Odede has been the presiding bishop of the CITAM church since January 2021. He joined CITAM in 1988 as a member and rose to the pastorate in 2008. Ten years later, he was appointed as a Deputy Senior Pastor of CITAM Valley Road, Senior Pastor of CITAM Woodley, Senior Pastor of CITAM Karen and lastly as the Senior Pastor of CITAM Valley Road.

Before joining CITAM, he served as the Senior Pastor of Nairobi Baptist Church for six years, having moved in a historic church-to-church transfer in Kenya, after a request from the Nairobi Baptist Church.
Besides ministry, has ventured into the field of academics. Currently, he is the Chancellor of Pan Africa Christian University. He took up the leadership mantle on May 21, 2021, from Bishop Emeritus Dr. David Oginde. He was installed as the third chancellor of the institution.
Previously, Odede worked with the Fellowship of Christian Unions (FOCUS) (a body working with students in Universities and Colleges) for 13 years. His work entailed pioneering and directing the triennial Commission Conference four times.
Achievements
The Bishop has conducted Bible and leadership countries in many countries around the world. He has been featured in mission conventions and conferences around the world as well. Some of these include being a Bible expositor at the Lausanne III Congress (Cape Town), Keswick Convention (UK), New Horizon (Northern Ireland), Urbana Missions Conventions (USA), Commission (Kenya), NIFES (Nigeria), Mission Korea (Korea), CIMA (Chile) and numerous other conferences. He has also contributed chapters in “Going the Distance” (Keswick, 2012), Power to Change (Keswick, 2016) and “Christ: Our Reconciler” (IVP, 2010).

Bishop Odede is married to Elizabeth with whom she has three children namely Victor, Benson and Michael.

While his personal net worth is not known, his church is ranked among the richest churches in Kenya. The church’s total income in the year 2019 stood at KSh 2.23 billion.
