Head of Presidential Special Projects and Creative Economy Dennis Itumbi has dismissed online speculation alleging he is leaking State House information to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
In a cryptic message posted on July 31, Itumbi said, “Tell the authors this one by Mole will not work,” as he dismissed claims that he intends to contest the Gichugu Constituency parliamentary seat in the 2027 General Election.
Michael Makarina, a social media user, asked on July 31 which political party he would use to seek the seat, listing the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) and Jubilee Party as possible options.
“I have a question for you, my friend: in 2027, which party will you be contesting for the Gichugu Constituency seat, UDA, DCP or Jubilee?” the user posted.
Responding to the claim, Itumbi rejected the suggestion that he was preparing a parliamentary bid.
“Are you also attracted to this propaganda? Interesting. But tell the authors this one by Mole will not work,” Itumbi said.
Kenyans React to Dennis Itumbi’s Post
Dennis Itumbi’s response drew mixed reactions on social media, with some dismissing his explanation and others encouraging him to pursue an elective post and promising to vote for him.
Some users pressed him to directly answer whether he intends to contest the Gichugu parliamentary seat in the 2027 General Election.
“Dennis Itumbi, answer the question, leave out the many things,” Martinez Mwendia wrote.
Another user also alleged that Itumbi was leaking State House information to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Others alleged that Itumbi has long been involved in spreading propaganda.
“Have you forgotten that you are the main propagandist in Kenya?” Mick Mutuma asked.

His Recent Tussle With Gachugua
The friction between the two has unfolded across several high-profile clashes.
In May, Gachagua accused President William Ruto’s executive of bypassing formal protocols to allow Itumbi to coordinate sensitive government activities during the President’s foreign travels.
Gachagua also accused Itumbi of improperly taking over a historic office space previously used by the late President Mwai Kibaki.
Dennis Itumbi fired back on social media, calling the allegations pure political distraction, stating his appointment was a product of “God and hard work,” and pointing out that Gachagua never raised any formal complaints while he was safely inside government

Itumbi found himself at the centre of another political controversy involving former Deputy President.
On July 16, Itumbi responded to a series of allegations by Gachagua by posting a video of himself juggling a football, opting for a symbolic response instead of issuing a formal statement.
In the video, recorded on what appeared to be a grassy lawn outside a marquee venue, Itumbi appeared to mock the accusations while suggesting that his critics should accept political realities following the Ol Kalou by-election.
Gachagua had accused Dennis of being part of a group allegedly coordinating rogue police units.
The former deputy president also claimed that Itumbi had been holding coordination meetings at the Royal Gardens Hotel.
Ahead of President Ruto’s Special Address, Gachagua had claimed that Uhuru Kenyatta was to be unveiled as Vision 2060 team leader.
“We are telling my elder brother, Uhuru Kenyatta, don’t allow yourself to be dragged into that mess. That vision is something we will plan next year. Why are you worried about the next 60 years? Tell us what you have done in the last year,” Gachagua said.
When the time came, Ruto unveiled Kenya’s new roadmap but fell short of naming the steering team. This raised questions as to whether Gachagua was receiving intelligence from State House insiders.
