From January 2026, admissions into senior secondary education are determined by learner performance in the Kenya Junior Secondary Education Assessment (KJSEA), following the phasing out of KCPE after the introduction of the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA).

Kamagut High School has recorded a significant turnaround in academic performance in recent years.
In the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations, the school posted a mean score of 6.8317, ranking it among the top five schools in Turbo Sub-County.
The results represented a positive deviation of +2.1476, marking one of the strongest year-on-year improvements recorded by a sub-county institution in the area.
In the 2025 KCSE examinations, the learning institution posted a mean score of 6.8317, a significant positive deviation of +2.147 compared to the previous year.
The results reflected a solid mid-to-upper grade distribution, with one B+, 11 B (plain), 37 B-, 81 C+, 63 C (plain) and four C- grades recorded. No candidate scored an A, A-, or any D or E grade.
Out of the 197 candidates who sat the examination, 130 qualified for direct university entry, underscoring the school’s upward academic trajectory and placing Kamagut High School among the better-performing mixed day schools in Turbo Sub-County.
Kamagut High School has a student population of approximately 740 learners and a teaching staff of about 30 teachers.
School fees
Under Ministry of Education guidelines effective January 2026, fees for public senior secondary schools were standardised based on institutional classification.
As a C2 category public senior school, the school has an official annual tuition fee of Ksh45,054. However, the total cost for boarding students may be higher once additional approved charges are included.
