The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced the temporary closure of a section of Uhuru Highway (A8) for three days.
In a statement on March 28, KeNHA informed the public that a section of the highway will be closed from Thursday, March 28 to Saturday, April 6, 2024.
“KeNHA wishes to notify the Public that there will be temporary closure of Uhuru Highway (A8) between Hotel Boulevard and University of Nairobi (UoN) roundabout (Mombasa Bound) from 11.59 pm on Thursday March 28, 2024, to 11.59pm on Saturday April 6, 2024,” the statement read in part.
The Authority explained that the closure will allow for construction of a pedestrian tunnel connecting UoN Main Campus and Chiromo Campus.
All motorists accessing Uhuru Highway (A8) from Westlands and Thika Road have been advised to use alternative routes such as Harry Thuku Road, University Way, Prof. Wangari Mathai Road, and Kipande Road.
Additionally, motorists using the road are advised to approach the affected section with caution.
“Follow the traffic signs and guidance in place as shall be directed by Police and Traffic Marshall on site,” KeNHA directed.
