Kenya Rugby Union has announced a flash sale of tickets priced at KSh 750, citing increased demand from supporters.
In a public statement on February 14, the union said it unlocked a limited number of additional tickets following consultations with Sports Kenya.
“Due to increased demand from fans and consultation with Sports Kenya, the Kenya Rugby Union has unlocked limited tickets for sale,” the Kenya Rugby Union statement read in part.
The union confirmed that the tickets are being sold through the online platform Tikohub.
“Tickets are available at http://tikohub.com/events/404,” Kenya Rugby confirmed.
According to the union, the decision was made after a surge in fan interest. It emphasised that only a limited number of tickets had been made available and urged interested buyers to secure their tickets promptly.
Public Reactions Towards Kenya Rugby Union
The announcement has drawn varied responses online, particularly from fans who questioned earlier communication that the event had been sold out.
Some supporters raised concerns about capacity and transparency in ticket allocation.
@MunyiNthigah wrote: “The Stadium has added capacity? You said it was sold out last week!”
Others focused on pricing, arguing that the KSh 750 charge was high given the conditions at the venue.
“Too low of you, why pay 750 for the scorching sun, it should be 200,” @Palmonni commented
There were also allegations regarding how tickets were initially distributed.

“It’s incredibly disappointing to see the HSBC organisers hoarding tickets for politicians, only to dump ‘flash tickets’ on the fans for KSh 750. You’ve completely sidelined the real fans who show up for the sport,” @Hyloveeee stated.
Additional remarks referred to political considerations.
“You had a limited capacity in the first phase because you were afraid of the political repercussions. The orders must have been from above. They didn’t want a full capacity Nyayo stadium shouting ‘WANTAM’. For the love of the game, don’t be guided by political sides. UNITE,” @AllHaveSinned added.
