A survey by Politrack Africa has revealed that the majority of Kenyans want seven former Cabinet Secretaries (CS) re-appointed by President William Ruto after being sacked on July 11, 2024.
Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki and his Defence counterpart Aden Duale are among individuals Kenyans want to be reinstated based on their perceived competence or alignment with public interests.
Kindiki leads the list with a 72.7 percent approval rating, while Duale comes second having scored 64.6 percent.
“For Kindiki he is a humble and selfless Leader. He Maintained security measures across board and in-person visitation to various places with insecurity Issues,” the Survey stated.
Duale according to the survey is “focused and committed to work and has no scandal since he took office”.

Others on the list of those to be reinstated include former Energy CS Davis Chirchir, with a 54.3 percent approval rating, and Kipchumba Murkomen who was in charge of Transport with 51.7 percent
Additionally, former Trade and Industry CS Rebecca Miano came fifth on the list with a 48.9 percent followed by former Public Service, Performance, and Delivery Management CS Moses Kuria who scored 40.9 percent.
Former Environment and Climate Change CS Soipan Tuya closes the list at position seven having scored 40.2 percent.

Other Results from the Survey
However, the study revealed that 67.3 percent of Kenyans support President William Ruto’s decision to dissolve the Cabinet, while 32.7 percent reject the move.
The survey also revealed a strong desire for a smaller cabinet, which many Kenyans believe could lead to better governance and accountability.
71.3 percent want ministries reduced to at least 15, while 28.7 percent opposed the decision to slash the Cabinet according to Politrack Africa survey.
The executive order to end the Cabinet Secretaries’ tenure further inspired confidence in the President, as expressed by 51.3% of respondents.
However, a significant 32.8% expressed public discontent, calling for more reforms.
