During the process and tension that revolved around the motion Kimani Ichung’wah publicly confirmed his support for the motion. He cited several concerns touching on internal divisions within the government.
In addition, his involvement included signing the motion and his active participation in debates geared towards the ouster of Gachagua from the office.
Moreover, his take and reactions have sparked mixed reactions from the public. While some join hands with him others have sharply criticized him for backing the impeachment process.
“I would completely disagree. I am the leader of the majority and when the honourable Mutuse Eckomas approached me to append my signature to the motion. I read the motion myself and I appended my signature after reading that motion,” Kimani clarified while responding to the claims by Gachagua made in a press release that President Ruto sanctioned his deputy’s impeachment.

“When some people attain power and access to state resources, their true nature comes to light. I don’t know how else to describe a person holding high office, who walks into a meeting at a State Lodge and grabs the collar of a junior officer,” Ichung’wah cited as he referred to Gachagua.
