Public Service Cabinet Secretary (CS) Moses Kuria has yet again called out Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for crying out loud over resources while he occupies a powerful office.
Speaking during the launch of the county dissemination Forum in Kiambu County, the CS warned that the ongoing debate about one-man-one-shilling-one vote, led by the DP, could lead to the division of the country along ethnic lines.

Kuria revealed that while traversing Mount Kenya region, locals had asked him if leaders from their region were supportive of the debate.
He emphasized that the majority of people, especially from the region, are inclined to invest in Kenya as a whole rather than pursue seclusion or isolation.

“We need Kenya, the most significant inclination for people, especially from this region, is to really invest in Kenya.”
“I am saying this as someone who travels across the country and finds people from this county all over the country. They ask me, when they hear some people talking about, I don’t know, seclusion or isolation, they ask me, are you people thinking clearly?” said Kuria.

CS Kuria also underscored the need for good intergovernmental relations between the two levels of government for the benefit of Kenyans.
Moses Kuria Stance on the One Man One Shilling Debate
Kuria had earlier acknowledged that revenue allocation to the populous region was a legitimate concern.
However, he questioned his own role in complaining about the issue, given his position as a cabinet minister.
“It is a legitimate question and I think the bulk of the people who’ll be at Limuru III will be justified to talk about one man, one vote, one shilling.
What I cannot understand is people like me crying with them, yet I am a cabinet minister,” he said.
Gachagua and Mt Kenya Politics
Gachague has been vocal in his push for regional balkanization saying that he will not abandon his cause even after President William Ruto warned leaders against creating regional segregations.
Speaking at a musical gathering in Nanyuki town, Gachagua said he will continue to seek unity among the people of Mount Kenya
He also claimed that the Mt. Kenya region had been infiltrated by individuals aiming to sow division among its people.

“It cannot be that Rigathi Gachagua will work alone, as if he is government alone, when your members of parliament come to your constituencies ask them where they stand on our unity and the sharing of resources through the one man one shilling formula,” said Gachagua.
He termed leaders who were opposed to the formula as traitors who should be punished at the ballot.
However, Gachagua’s call for unity in the region irked some leaders from the region who say his mission will lead to the isolation of the Mt. Kenya.
