Public Service Cabinet Secretary (CS) Moses Kuria has praised Deputy President (DP) Rigathi Gachagua amid the ongoing kingpin debate in the Mt. Kenya region.

Speaking on Citizen TV on Wednesday, November 8, CS Kuria said DP Gachagua is the principal assistant to President William Ruto.

Further, the CS admitted that Gachagua is their boss and chairs the Cabinet committees.

“Credits to DP Gachagua, he has done the Cabinet Committees so well. Our Cabinet is so efficient because it is sort of some processing or forum for Cabinet,” he said.

Kuria explained that the CS’s have a lot of time and freedom to discuss issues in the Committees chaired by the DP.

Besides, Kuria said he has a good relationship with DP Gachagua and refused to comment on the reason why he posted Gachagua’s photo after being moved from the Trade Ministry.

“We get along with the DP, he is the deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and my boss,” he stated.

Additionally, he revealed that DP Gachagua is very busy in running the affairs of the Kenya Kwanza government.

“There is so much to be done in government, we need all hands-on deck from the president, DP, Prime Cabinet Secretary and all the CSs,” he explained.

Meru Local Politics

Also, CS Kuria admitted that the impeachment motion against Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza is as a result of local politics.

In addition, he explained that leaders should avoid stupid politics but instead embrace constructive positive politics.

“The problem is if Kawira is impeached without grounds, what will happen when there are real grounds to impeach a governor? People will say this is just politics because you know when the trust is broken, it cannot come back, “he said.

Furthermore, the CS said there is a worrying trend in the impeachment motions against governors.

“What happens to other regions because I have talked of nine impeachments, you mean other regions are not questioning or what? There is worrying trend even in a statistical point of view, nine impeachments one region,” he said.

Kuria Praises Uhuru

Kuria sentiments about Gachagua came a few hours after he praised former President Uhuru Kenyatta and Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru.

Speaking during the 10th anniversary of Huduma Centre in Nakuru, the CS hailed the two for realizing the Huduma Kenya initiative dream.

“I would like to thank Ann Waiguru and Uhuru Kenyatta because Huduma Kenya saw its inception during his government,” said Kuria.

He equally thanked all the stakeholders who have contributed in the making the Huduma Kenya dream come true.
