Azimio la Umoja Spokesperson Makau Mutua has supported United States President Joe Biden’s threat to sanction Uganda after passing the anti-homosexuality bill.
Makau Mutua in a statement on Tuesday, May 30 backed President Biden’s threat to withdraw aid services to Uganda, saying the law signed by Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni on Monday is discriminatory and violent, and should not be allowed.

Moreover, the US President announced that he had directed the National Security Council to evaluate some of the key aids the US is offering to Uganda.
“As such, I have directed my National Security Council to evaluate the implications of this law on all aspects of U.S. engagement with Uganda, including our ability to safely deliver services under the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and other forms of assistance and investments,” he said.
