President William Ruto‘s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party will receive the lion’s share of fund allocations from the Political Parties Fund (PPF).
The ruling party is set to pocket Ksh558.49 million according to the Registrar of Political Parties (RPP) Anne Nderitu who announced allocations to political outfits in the Financial Year 2024-25 in a gazette notice published on Friday.
“IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by sections 23, 25 and 34 (b) of the Political Parties Act, 2011, and Regulation 6 (c) of the Political Parties (Funding) Regulations, 2019, the Registrar of Political Parties give notice that the following forty-eight (48) political parties are eligible to receive funds from the Political Parties Fund (PPF) during the Financial Year 2024/2025,” reads the notice by RPP Anne Nderitu.
Following UDA in the allocations is Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party, which will get Ksh298,333,313 million.
The Jubilee Party and Kenya African National Union (KANU) will get Ksh130.85 and Ksh23. 26 million respectively, while Ksh69, 887, 212 has been allocated for Kalonzo Musyoka‘s Wiper party.
Parties share
Martha Karua‘s party, the National Rainbow Coalition-Kenya (NARC), got Ksh7,314,719 million, while Safina Party which is led by businessman Jimi Wanjigi got Ksh3,037,744 million.

Devolution Empowerment Party will receive (Ksh13,334,379 million), Party of Independent Candidate of Kenya PICK (Ksh850,744), Kenya National Congress (Ksh1,792,698 million), Democratic Party of Kenya (Ksh5,308,294 million), Party of National Unity (Ksh4,316,723 million), Kenya Social Congress (Ksh1,177,759), Forum for Restoration of Democracy Kenya FORD-Kenya (Ksh25,025,167 million), and Progressive Party of Kenya( Ksh3,051,255 million).
Others are Maendeleo Democratic Party (Ksh563,198), National Rainbow Coalition NARC (Ksh4,986,615 million), Kenya African Democratic Union-Asili KADU-Asili (Ksh464,348), Communist Party of Kenya CPK (Ksh1, 013, 437 million), Chama Cha Uzalendo-CCU (Ksh3 797,758 million), and National Agenda Party of Kenya NAP-K (Ksh2,164,489 million).
Also in the list are Chama Cha Mashinani (Ksh4,444,228 million), Amani National Congress-ANC (Ksh25,758,881 million), Maendeleo Chap Chap (Ksh12,263,223 million), The Service Party TSP (Ksh10,212,505) and Democratic Action Party-Kenya DAP-K (Ksh30,621,843) among others.
UDA, ODM and Jubilee allocation in 23/24
The allocations are a significant rise from what the parties received in the Financial Year 2023-24.

Earlier in June this year, UDA pocketed Ksh316 million, while ODM, Jubilee, and Wiper got Ksh168.8 million, Ksh74 million, and Ksh39 million respectively.
The Political Parties Act in Section 25 states that 95 per cent of the Fund is allocated to the total number of votes secured by each political party in the preceding General Election and 5 per cent accounts for the administration expenses of the Fund.
The funds, the Registrar noted, will be disbursed on quarterly basis upon receipt from the National Treasury.
