Kapseret Member of Parliament (MP), Oscar Sudi celebrated after the late President Moi’s grandson Gift Moi jets back into the country from cancer treatment.
Sudi in a statement on September 24, said he was very delighted to see Kalya Gift Moi back in Kenya.

“I am overjoyed to witness Kalya Gift Moi’s return the scion and grandson of retired President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi following cancer treatment in India, supported by Kenyan efforts. Thanks to all who donated, your support made a difference!” the statement read.
According to Gift Moi’s mother, Faith Moi, they stayed in India for five months while Gift was being treated for cancer.

Faith Moi narrates Gift Moi’s treatment
In a video shared by Kapseret MP Sudi on his social media platforms, Faith mentioned that her son’s cancer was a rare type of tumor.
“It’s good to be home, we have been very through a tough treatment. The cancer he had was a rare tumor. It has been a very intense treatment,” Faith explained.

“The surgery was successful longer than we expected. The doctors were able to remove the tumor fully together with the disease. Where the disease had affected the bone, they were able to remove the whole of it,” Faith Moi added.
Gift’s mother assured everyone that her son was now okay and thanked all the Kenyans who contributed to his treatment.

“I want to thank everyone who supported us through the Paybill number, those who sent encouragement, and those who continued to call and talk to us. I am deeply indebted,” she said.
Additionally, she thanked all the leaders who fundraised for her son’s treatment.

The leaders included President William Ruto, Oscar Sudi, former Soy MP, Caleb Kositany, and former Cabinet Secretary for Cooperatives and Micro and Small Enterprise Development, Samson Chelugui.
Earlier this year, Gift’s mother had appealed to the public to raise Sh 2.5M surgery funds for her son who was diagnosed with a cyst on his left upper jaw two years ago.

Her son’s surgery was initially scheduled for January 4, 2024, but she was unable to facilitate the surgery due to financial constraints.
This prompted several Rift Valley leaders led by the Kapseret MP to fundraise KSh 6.1 million for her son’s treatment.
