The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has published photos of individuals wanted for their involvement in unlawful activities during the recent Anti-Finance Bill 2024 protests.
The DCI urged the published suspects to surrender to the nearest police station for further police action.
The list of wanted individuals includes a man who was caught on video speaking in parliament after protestors stormed the premises during the protests.
In a viral self-recorded video, the man dressed in a black t-shirt was heard addressing the Speaker while proclaiming “Mr. Speaker sir, I’m here to address you. Ruto must go”.
“We are not leaving here, and we do not fear you guys. Who are we?” he added.
The police are seeking public assistance to locate these individuals. In total, the published images are 38 with the police asking them to surrender to the nearest police station for further action. The images have been captured from CCTV footages in various buildings where the suspects are believed to have participated in unlawful activities including Parliament Buildings.
Any information regarding the whereabouts of the suspects can be reported confidentially to the anonymous #Fichuakwa DCI Hotline at 0800 722 203 or through the police hotlines 999, 911, or 112.
Kindiki on Protests
In a statement released on July 2, 2024, the cabinet secretary for Interior Kithure Kindiki said that on 25th June 2024, an unprecedented civil unrest occurred in Nairobi and several other towns in Kenya leading to loss of lives and property of unestablished value.

He further stated that in Nairobi and its environs, 204 suspects were apprehended, while 35 others were arrested in the Coastal region, 18 in Nyanza and 11 and 4 in Rift Valley and Eastern regions respectively.
Kindiki further assured the public that justice will be served.
“The Government assures the public that the planners, executors and financiers of large-scale arson, violent robberies and other felonous crimes will be brought to justice,” Kindiki said.
Ruto to Anti-finance bill Protestors
This comes after President William Ruto promised to deal with demonstrators who stormed Parliament buildings, destroyed properties, and burnt a section of the premises during the anti-finance bill protests on Tuesday, June 25, 2024.

Addressing the leaders of the African Independent Pentecostal Church of Africa on Saturday, June 29, Ruto applauded the youth for stepping up and airing their issues through peaceful protests.
“I don’t blame them; they did well by coming out to air their problems. They did so peacefully and with a plan, without considering tribal lines, which is very positive,” Ruto said.
However, the president assured Citizens that the government will punish the ‘criminals’ who took advantage of the protests to invade Parliament buildings, burn government offices, and loot private businesses.
“Some people mixed with them. Those who stormed and burnt Parliament are not these young people; those are criminals. We will look for them, they can’t escape. You cannot destroy government property,” he said.
