To support affected customers during the interruption, residents have been advised to use available water sparingly until the normal supply is restored.
Nairobi Water said bowser services will remain available for priority needs. Customers can request and make payments by dialling *260# and selecting option five.
The company added that it will continue to uphold water quality and public health standards throughout the restoration process and apologized for the inconvenience caused.
The disruption comes at a time when different parts of the country are experiencing enhanced rainfall.
Water levels in major dams have risen significantly, indicating a more stable and sustainable water supply in the near term, even as the current disruption highlights infrastructure vulnerabilities amid the ongoing heavy rains.

About the Northern Collector Tunnel
The Northern Collector Tunnel (NCT) is a key infrastructure project under Nairobi’s master plan to secure new water sources for the city and its 13 satellite towns through 2035.
Before the project, Nairobi faced an estimated water deficit of 125,000 cubic metres per day.
Funded by the World Bank, the project features Kenya’s longest tunnel, designed to channel floodwater from three rivers in Murang’a County—Maragua, Gikigie, and Irati—into the existing water supply network at Ndakaini Dam, Nairobi’s main water source.
